August 2025 Committee Meeting Minutes
4 August 2025 5pm- Normanville Hotel
Present: Amanda Crossley (Chair), Richard Fairweather (Treasurer), Lorraine Felix (Secretary), Virginia Frayne, Keith Wells, Paul Jelfs, Di Yianni, Steve Yianni, Pat Bilney, Davina Quirk.

Previous Minutes.
The minutes of the meeting held on 10 June 2025 had been distributed and were approved. Moved: Lorraine, Seconded: Amanda. CARRIED.
Correspondence
- Incoming: Bank Statements, Letter from Bank SA regarding minimum account transactions.
- Outgoing: Letter to Hon. Leon Biggs seeking funding options for the dog park constriction.
Treasurer’s Report
Richard tabled reports with balances as of 5 August. Two accounts YDRA general ( $1345.41) and YDRA dog park project ($ 17346.45) The report was accepted Moved: Amanda , Seconded: Virginia. CARRIED
Bungala Project Report
No report.
Dog Park Project Report
Lorraine reported on the recent meeting with Council staff, where the likely content of the MoU was discussed. We are still waiting on the letter from Council confirming the July decision to move to an in-prinicple MoU. Grant Fund applications are not possible without it. The Yankalilla Community Opportunity Shop has asked us to submit an updated funding request. The Secretary will do that and include a copy of the Council letter.
Other Business
- Keith reported that he has received no further contact from other community groups regarding the possibility of collaborative efforts.
- Another community forum and sausage sizzle to be conducted on 18th October, 11am to 2pm at the Yankalilla Skate Park, to seek opinions on the proposed increase in the number of Councillors to 10 including an elected Mayor. Keith will draft the question to be put to ratepayers. Paul will the design a flyer to promote the event. Flyers could be handed out to residents at the Yankalilla Show by simply asking people if they are a ratepayer in the District.
- Dog park group will run a stall selling honey and bric a brac. A concept board will be displayed showing the plans for the park. Small novelty jars of honey will be handed out as part of the children’s “ Yellow Brick Road”. A prominent “thank you” acknowledging the donor of our honey will be displayed.
- Di submitted receipts and requested reimbursement for stall booking and purchase of honey jars. The Treasurer will action.
