Letter to Council re Footpaths

Mr. Nathan Cunningham
CEO – Yankalilla District Council

Dear Nathan,
Our AGM was held on 27th March 2025. At the Q&A session after the meeting, the subject of footpaths in the District was raised by a number of people.
Residents raised concerns about footpaths partly obstructed by overhanging plants. These could be growing on the footpath itself, although more often they are growing on private property. This is a particular problem for people using mobile scooters or walkers.
Would DCY consider using its communication channels to ask property owners to trim back any of their plants growing over the footpaths adjacent to their property? The state of, or complete lack of, footpaths is an ongoing discussion. This seems to be one small issue that could be solved simply.
We appreciate your time and consideration of this request.

Yours sincerely,
Ms. Amanda Crossley
President – YDRA
